This back-panted glass is the perfect solution for architects, designers, homeowners or anyone who desires a beautifully manufactured, sleek design alternative to painted walls, tiles, granite, stone or steel. What is Colourglaze?

Colourglaze by Glassworks Ireland is manufactured using a proprietary paint technology developed specifically for superior adhesion to glass. The colour coating is applied to the second surface, or non-contact surface, of the glass. The result is brilliant colour combined with the practicality of glass.

Glassworks Ireland only uses Opti-White (Low Iron/ultra-Clear Glass), so the colour transmission is the purest available. The paint is applied in one coat, and an additional paint layer is then applied to further protect the color during transport, handling and installation. Finally, durability is ensured by the heat-curing process, which creates a paint that adheres incredibly well without brittleness.

What colours are available?

We have a range of 25 standard colours of Colourglaze, but colour possibilities are limitless due to our computerized mixing system. This database contains endless colour options that allow customers’ maximum flexibility for commercial or residential projects from any colour swatch specification. We can mix colours from any of the following ranges:

How durable is Colourglaze?

Extensive testing on the coating technology used on Colourglaze verifies its durability and resistance to colour fading by UV light, as well as chemicals, cleaners, moisture, and humidity. Further tests reveal its non-yellowing properties and excellent colour adhesion, resistance to corrosion, resilience to scratches during handling and installation and overall durability.
